Summer Semester 2027

Lecturers from Ukrainian universities are invited to participate in the international educational project TANDEM-UA-DE, implemented jointly with the German university OTH Amberg-Weiden (OTH AW).

The Summer Semester 2027 will involve the selection of specialized instructors to teach courses closely aligned with the Bachelor’s program in Digital Technology and Management (DTM) at OTH Amberg-Weiden, including:

(a) Statistics and Quantitative Methods,
(b) Information Systems and Databases,
(c) Communication Technology,
(d) Logistics,
(e) Industrial Engineering,

For reference on the DTM Bachelor’s program at OTH AW:

All documents must be submitted in English by October 27, 2026:

  1. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  2. Course syllabus – prepared according to the OTH AW syllabus template (1 page; sample provided in the catalog)
  3. Link to the lecturer’s personal page (e.g., university profile or professional webpage)

Following the initial screening, the second stage will consist of an interview and a microteaching session (10–15 minutes; detailed instructions will be shared separately).

The volume of each course is 5 ECTS credits.

The number of classroom hours is 60

Evaluation method: according to the OTH AW program (for the TANDEM-UA-DE project – instructors’ choice subject to justification).
Language of instruction: English

Modules are delivered in a co-teaching format: two lecturers from different partner universities jointly teach each course. The teaching load for each lecturer is 30 hours during the first, pilot year, and also in the second year as part of the parallel degree program.

Compensation is provided on an hourly basis: €30 per academic online hour in the first year, when the course is being developed and piloted, and €15 per hour in the following year, once the material has been prepared and is used in the parallel degree program. The reduced rate reflects the fact that the primary effort and compensation are associated with the development and piloting of the course material, which can subsequently be used by all partner universities. Conducting the final assessment is a mandatory part of teaching and is not compensated separately.

According to the terms of the project, all materials developed by teachers may be used by partner universities of the TANDEM-UA-DE project in future joint activities.

The academic courses (modules), jointly developed by Ukrainian and German lecturers, will be offered to students from Ukraine and Germany — including project participants from Ukrainian universities and DTM program students at OTH AW. This format fosters a genuine environment of intercultural and interdisciplinary interaction, going beyond the scope of traditional academic exchanges.

Each semester, one of the seven partner universities will serve as the lead institution for one of the five mandatory modules, delivering it in a hybrid format: in-person for local students and online for participants from partner institutions. This approach ensures equitable access to expert knowledge, enhances academic mobility without requiring students to relocate, and creates unique opportunities for collaboration and learning.

To maintain stability and ensure high-quality teaching, a co-teaching model is employed: each module is conducted by two lecturers from different universities. This approach promotes the exchange of expertise, interdisciplinarity, alignment of course content among partners, and guarantees continuity of the learning process in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
